With 50 million records sold, Peter Maffay is the most successful German-speaking artist and he was and is also very popular in Austria. In fact, Austria was the second largest market when it comes to record sales.
Peter Maffay played his last major tour in 2024, now he only plays “favorite places” occasionally, the time is ripe for a strong tribute. Even in Germany, there aren't too many competitors here, so it's difficult to take the subject seriously with a respectful distance but still authentically - what's more, internationally successful musicians have played with him, so the bar is quite high.
We see ourselves more as a homage to Peter Maffay than a tribute - that's because many of our musicians are in a similar league and support or have supported top artists in Germany in their bands.
